Exercise Programs

Recovery from breast cancer can be a fragile and complex time with feelings of vulnerability. Women recovering from breast cancer face many challenges including fatigue, limited range of motion, and emotional distress. Engaging in a physician approved exercise program uniquely designed for women recovering from breast cancer can be of great physical and emotional benefit.

Hope Chest offers such a program to patients and survivors of breast cancer in Western New York enabling them to build strength and feel more energized. It is well known that consistent physical activity can improve health in countless ways including:

  • Promote emotional well-being
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints
  • Reduce the risk of developing various diseases including various cancers, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease

After surgery or any treatment, it is more important than ever to honor your body. Targeted exercise helps to decrease any side effects of surgery and enable you to return to normal daily activities.

Exercise sessions last about one hour and include an aerobic warm-up, strength training, Pilates, Yoga, stretching and relaxation. Click here for more information about the Hope Chest Free Exercise Program.

Luminina, operating as Hope Chest, has announced an agreement with the BAC for Women to offer Breast Cancer Survivor (BCS) exercise classes at all three BAC locations in Western New York. Click here to obtain a FREE one day pass for exercise at any BAC location.

Our paddling program is focused on building upper body strength and improving range of motion by engaging in repetitive and non weight-bearing exercise.
